I’ve never waxed my eyebrows.
Perhaps my aversion to the
beauty treatment so many women regard as essential as teeth brushing originated
when I saw the explosion of angry red bumps the wax caused to sprout from my
sister’s adolescent forehead. Not wanting to invite the same complexion
catastrophe, I began the less intrusive method of tweezing and never broke the
habit.
Twelve years later the task’s tediousness is wearing on me and for the first time I desire the cleaner
look a wax job generates.
I plan to make an appointment
soon, but upkeep isn’t the biggest battle if your brows are barely-there slivers.
Nothing reveals amateurism
quite like overly-plucked eyebrows. It’s challenging to regain fullness in a
way that doesn’t look like you’ve neglected to cut the grass in a couple
months, but concealing imperfections, enhancing what we have and painting on what we don’t is exactly
what makeup is for (right?!). Fake it til you make it, girl.
Lightly filling in sparse
spots with a pencil yields a healthy, refined look that is a happy medium
between rolling out of bed and wearing a white lab coat at the Clinique
counter.
For a little more polish when
you primp, Makeup Forever’s Aqua Brow is the answer – and currently listed on InStyle's “Best Fall Makeup Under $25.”
In addition to providing
fullness and definition, the gel lengthens so arches evenly frame eyes. The creamy formula of volatile oil and carnauba wax tames and holds
wayward hairs for a smooth, combed finish that resists the elements while still
managing to make you look born that way.
Eyebrows seem a negligible
feature, but the arresting sight of a face without proves how imperative is a
well-formed, well-groomed pair. A tiny tweak – or tweeze – and Aqua Brow squeeze
will show you’re a pro.
Check out these pics of stars with awesome eyebrows. Is it coincidence they're also some of the most beautiful?
